TeqTrader has added the locally developed Geo Vision digital security surveillance system to its already comprehensive range.
TeqTrader's Clint Odendaal, who heads up the organisation's CCTV operations, says the Geo Vision system does not use the traditional round-the-clock video tape recording approach of many conventional surveillance systems. "The system has built-in motion detection technology and only moving objects breaking the view port area are recorded," says Odendaal. "This video data is digitised, captured with date and time, compressed and kept on the PC's harddrive for tracking later on. Single frame prints are also supported, with date and time. The system allows remote view by Modem, TCP/IP and IPX with Geo Vision's own remote view application or through the Web browser that acts like a Web-cam."
Geo Vision's 4 EYES feature provides four sensor inputs (such as body temperature sensor, infrared sensor, magnetic switch) and three relay output controls (for example, alarm, triggering of the video recorder). This feature makes it possible for a single PC to use many VGA cards simultaneously, under the Windows NT 4.0 environment.
Geo Vision allows for cameras to be individually configured for sensitivity, video quality, alarm and mask area and each camera's zoom-in/out function is controlled by mouse or function keys. Sequential scans and zooming by each camera takes place every three seconds.
Remote monitoring is facilitated through Geo Vision's remote view application and when intruder motion is detected, an alarm is sent to the user's pager or telephone.
