The E-Twincam is a product that allows one to turn a laptop or personal PC into a low cost digital video recording product for home or business security. The system comprises of a USB video grabber and Twincam surveillance software. The USB grabber provides the link between an analog video source (ie a camera) and a PC, and converts the analog video to digital to be processed on a PC.

The Twincam software is a Windows-based package for monitoring and recording of the inputted video signal. The video image is displayed in realtime in a re-sizable window, allowing one to monitor a camera while doing other work on the PC. For surveillance purposes, video can be recorded manually on demand or via the internal software motion detection. The user sets up detection zones and when there is movement the unit records. Alarm notification on activation is via e-mail and one can setup four e-mail addresses to send a message and picture too. A remote monitoring function is also provided which allows one to view video images over a TCP/IP connection.
