Wavetrend acquires EMS

May 2002 News & Events

Wavetrend, specialist in the manufacture of hardware-based active RF identification products, has acquired Evolving Management Solutions (EMS), a former business partner and developer of asset management software and access control systems.

Just over a year ago the two companies formed an alliance to cease competing and complement their expertise to jointly design and develop a range of asset tracking/management products that are easier to install, rich in functionality and competitively priced. The success of these joint efforts have led to an opportunity for further integration between the companies in order to provide a broader and more complete service and solution offering to customers. This will allow Wavetrend, and its authorised business partners to provide sophisticated solutions to market areas such as realtime physical asset management, access systems of all types and people monitoring.

The purchase includes EMS' sister company in the UK, I3ST (Integrated Systems, Solutions & Services Through Technology). Additionally, Wavetrend has an extensive network of authorised Business Partners throughout the US, UK, South Africa, Japan, Australia and SE Asia.

Fernando de Sousa, Wavetrend's Chief Operating Officer, says the decision to purchase EMS and I3ST is largely to create new markets and increase the awareness of asset management technology. "We are now well positioned to offer total solutions using extensive resources, experience and ownership of innovative technology. Extensive consulting skills are available for the integration of hardware and software projects associated with active RF asset tracking and access control, regardless of size or complexity."
