What does a 620-year-old castle and UF500 infrared illuminators have in common?
In the case of Durham City, UK, they were both put in place to protect the magnificent Durham Cathedral to address modern-day security concerns. Durham Castle was finished in 1381 to protect a then 250-year-old Durham Cathedral from northern invaders. 615 years later, the UF500 from Derwent and other CCTV equipment were installed to protect the magnificent structure from vandals and terrorists.
Its use as a primary location for the shooting of the film Harry Potter, will raise its fame and increase its need for CCTV security.
