TeqTrader acquires local Ademco business

TeqTrader has acquired the local Ademco business, as a going concern, from Applied Test Systems (ATS) as from 1 December 2001. The deal was negotiated by ATS' MD, Chris Kitchen, Sales and Marketing Director, Mike Armour and TeqTrader's Frank Fowles. Ademco is one of the largest manufacturers of quality electronic security products in the world.

According to Mike Armour, ATS has worked hard over the past seven years to successfully establish a niche market for Ademco's technologically advanced high-end security products. "However, ATS' core specialisation today is in the area of global positioning systems (GPS) so we believe that the Ademco business will have a more synergistic home with a specialist security supplier like TeqTrader," he says.
