The RS232/485 converter from Systems Technologies is not only a communication device but is also a diagnostic tool enabling the user to check the integrity of the RS485 comms line. It addition, it has been designed to reduce problems as a result of echo on the lines and warns if the line has been terminated.
One of the limitations of RS485 is that a maximum of 31 devices can be controlled per unit. The Systems Technologies converter has one port and two channels, thereby allowing it to support up to 62 devices from the one converter. The converter can be used as a repeater to extend the range of communication.
Other features include:
* Integrated mains supply.
* Wall-mountable
* Backlit LCD display.
All components used are CE and TÜV compliant and the unit has been developed in compliance with international standards. Locally manufactured, the RS232/485 converter is backed with a 12-month warranty and is available for under R1000.
