Digital Management Technology (DMT) have successfully completed installation of a Vigilante Digital CCTV system at the Swaziland Government's Department of Finance in Mbabane. This is one of 11 more sites still to be completed and is utilising the latest in cabling and recording technology.
On-site there are 36 cameras of which two are high-speed domes. These domes have built-in PTZ functionality and can magnify images up to 128 x its original size. These domes are utilised to cover the external perimeter as well as internal areas needing more intense surveillance. The Vigilante recorders use Wavelet compression on an NT4 operating system platform and can, due to the large storage capacity, record several days of continuous video.
DMT's unique video motion detection algorithms have been implemented to provide the intelligent alarming and recording functionality and together with the fact that the system is wholly locally developed and designed provides functionality uniquely suited to the operation. In addition, the system can be seamlessly integrated with existing access control systems.
