Marshall International recently announced its appointment as the distributors of IMIX video image processing and enhancement systems for southern Africa. The IMPRESS system has been developed for the law enforcement market to provide a simple and secure method of processing and enhancing video pictures that are lacking in quality and not suitable for evidence or for valuable information.
The problem of video evidence not being sufficient is a common problem in all countries. Converting video to digital format can also cause a problem if it must be used as evidence in court. The IMPRESS PRO can also record and replay 30 minutes of live uncompressed video to a hard drive. An interesting feature is the activity log that is kept by the IMPRESS program. This is essential for court as evidence that the video has not been tampered with.
The program has already been approved by the Police Scientific Development Branch (PSDB) in England as well as a number of other law enforcement agencies in Europe and Australia.
