GSC Systems is introducing a number of evaluation kits for its range of proximity reader modules. These assist with developing an understanding of the features of the modules and serve as a reference when designing the modules into a customer’s own products.
The evaluation kits are powered with 12 V and have a serial port for communicating to the module which is plugged into the kit. A selection of terminals, jumpers, relays and LEDs are provided to exercise the modules various inputs and outputs.
Modules exist for 125 kHz and 13,56 MHz proximity cards.
For the 125 kHz range the antenna is internal to the module and options exist for cards using AM and FSK modulation. In the 13,56 MHz range the modules are designed to work with Mifare cards (Ultralight, Classic, Plus, Desfire). Both read-only and read/write cards are supported and an external antenna is provided.
All modules share the same footprint which makes designing a product for different module options possible.
