Suprema recently announced that the latest BioMini Plus (SFU500) fingerprint scanner received final certification from the Government of India’s STQC (Standardization Testing & Quality Certification) for the country’s UID (Unique ID, India’s next generation national ID) based fingerprint authentication demands.
BioMini Plus is a compact fingerprint scanner providing fast capture speed and clear image quality by using the company’s advanced optical image processing technology. Along with its recently added STQC certification, the device has been approved by several global standards including FBI PIV-IQS and FIPS 201 certifications.
The BioMini Plus also features Suprema’s ‘hybrid type’ live finger detection (LFD) technology, which is effective in protecting the fingerprint system from attacks via fake fingerprints. This technology is based on the fact that there are certain dynamic image characteristics presented by fake fingers which can be distinguished from those of live fingers. Using advanced analysis algorithms, these abnormalities in the dynamic changing pattern of fingerprint images and static features, such as ridge patterns and local intensity distribution, are detected.
What’s more, BioMini Plus provides the extra durability required in India’s harsh environments through its dust and splash-proof rugged structure with IP65 level protection on its sensor surface.
