Modular Communications has released its New AcoustAlert field processor board. At the heart of the new AcoustAlert processor is CobraNet technology, from Cirrus Logic’s standard in audio networking technology.
“In applying our design, we have used the advanced DSP of CobraNet to filter and present the signals from microphonic piezoelectric cable in a way that we can determine if a person is climbing onto or cutting a fence to which the detection cable is fitted,” says Modular’s Cliff Rose. “Also within the DSP we have configured the CobraNet DSP to give us expert ambient noise reduction which presents the climbing and cutting signals to the detection circuit, resulting in a high probability of detection rate.”
The best feature of the new AcoustAlert field processor is the price, which is a third of the price of imported systems from Europe with AcoustAlert offering far more functionality and futuristic design.
