WISMO allows for communications integration

July 2001 Infrastructure

Wavecom has packed GSM technology into a neat little package that anyone can use - from system integrators and developers to manufacturers of handsets and other terminals. WISMO makes it easy by integrating all of the hardware and software into a simple, plug-in module. With a comprehensive array of application interfaces built in, designers are free to focus on product development and optimisation.

WISMO solutions enable GPRS, WAP, asynchronous data, SMS, and fax as well as voice communications. Standard interfaces ensure WISMO can be integrated into all systems. Remote control is simple to implement, encryption algorithms deliver security and SIM interfaces are included in a package that is fully shielded and type approved.

Included in the range is the WMOD2 which delivers the direct-to-GSM convenience of the Dual Band model in the GSM 1900 frequency band. This external modem also features rugged design and versatility.

Wavecom has taken the WISMO solution further to develop a portfolio of GSM modems.

These compact units are type-approved, ready to use and small enough to be installed inside a product or system. Or they can be discretely mounted externally.
