When an indoor security camera is pointed towards a window or an entrance area, operators see the background washed out during the day. This is a very common situation in restaurants and stores which have large glass windows. To fix this problem, Provision ISR has introduced WDR cameras. The camera is fitted with two CCDs, one high speed CCD and one low speed. The two CCDs take two scans of the same image instead of one scan as a typical camera would. The first CCD scans the images in normal light condition. After that, the camera scans the second time at high speed to get the image with strong light background. The image processor then combines the two images into one to provide a balanced image.
HiTek Security Distributors has announced a new range of WDR (wide dynamic range) Ultravision DSP cameras from Provision. The Ultravision DSP chipset integrates technologies such as extended dynamic range, enhanced low light sensitivity, high resolution, advanced 3D-DNR, image stabiliser and enables clear and accurate image capturing. The benefits of this chipset also includes: eclipse function, digital 10x zoom, vertical and horizontal flip, privacy masking, video motion detection and more.
