Surge Technology's fax and modem protectors are manufactured to withstand repeated lightning and over-voltage surges. In addition, the locally manufactured unit also safeguards against surges entering via the power supply.
This is achieved with one compact unit that is installed by plugging the protector into the power socket and telephone line and then into the modem or fax.
Usually after a single lightning strike, protectors have to be repaired or replaced, but this device withstands surges up to 10 kA on the telephone line and up to 5 kA on the power line, strike after strike. To ensure potential equalisation between the power and telephone lines, no additional earthing is required as this is already integrated into the protector.
