Panasonic's WJ-NT104 is an Ethernet interface device that allows for the viewing and control of a number of cameras and/or other Panasonic equipment via a LAN and can be further expanded to include viewing of cameras via the Internet.
"Traditionally, CCVE technology has been the domain of the security industry. The monitoring of CCVE cameras was something that happened in a tightly controlled security room by a select few. This is changing and Panasonic CCVE systems are now found in interesting environments and the visuals can be accessed without the need of a secret password and/or key," explains Mags Anthony, Director of Panasonic's CCVE department. Applications for this system include zoos, museums and other tourist attractions.
Similarly, the WJ-HDB502 is a network board that enables users to view images from a WJ-HD500 Digital Recorder via a LAN/WAN. No special software is required as the images can be viewed using standard web browser software, common to most PCs.
The WJ-AV20 is an AV Codec unit used to transmit images over ISDN lines in near realtime. The unit also allows for the control of one PTZ camera and four other cameras. In addition, by using an ISDN line one can control and view cameras anywhere in the world.
