BFR Digital has announced it has appointed Sentronics as its second southern African distributor. Customers will now be able to obtain BFR’s locally designed and manufactured products from both Sentronics and long-time distributor, Norbain SA.
BFR Digital designs, develops and manufactures a full range of fibre-optic transmission, Ethernet, twisted pair video transmission (UTP), data transmission, video amplifiers, surge protection and power supply products for the African market. These products form the backbone of CCTV, security and surveillance networks.
Bernard Senekal, MD of Sentronics says the company decided to include BFR Digital’s products in its portfolio as the technologies are designed for local conditions and manufactured to international standards. “In addition, BFR’s warranty guarantees customer satisfaction, which makes the job of a distributor easier.”
Founded in 2001 as a creative outlet for its three founding engineers, BFR Digital’s first product was the GUI-MUX. The product was a graphic user interface that operated a video multiplexer and a VCR off a Windows 98 platform. The company soon found a niche business opportunity to develop and manufacture robust CCTV equipment for the South African market.
