Nashua Mobile, C-track SA and Cell C have announced the launch of the new C-track ICE (In Case of Emergency), an all-in-one cellphone and personal tracking device.
The C-track ICE is a personal tracking and communications solution that allows the person in possession of the device to instantly alert emergency services in the event of a crisis.
“The moment the SOS button is pressed, a voice call is instantly connected through to the C-track Support Centre. The current GPS position of the C-track ICE unit is also sent immediately. From there armed response or medical services can be quickly dispatched, depending on the nature of the emergency,” states Mark Rousseau, managing director of C-track SA.
In addition, C-track ICE also allows the position of the person carrying the device to be continually monitored.
“The device also functions as a mobile GPS tracking device,” states Mark. “This makes it ideally suited for the active sports person training alone or being tracked whilst racing. By giving these devices to cyclists and runners, for example, one is able to track their movement, while also providing them with an opportunity to instantly alert emergency services and effective deployment of resources if an emergency occurs.”
While many operators already have tracking devices on their trucks, C-track ICE now also allows them to monitor the location of their drivers, not only the vehicles. So, if something should happen and the driver is separated from the vehicle, he or she can now instantly send out a distress signal that alerts the operator of their location.
