iPulse Systems, a local developer and manufacturer of biometric fingerprint devices has announced a change in its ownership and strategy moving forward into 2010.
“iPulse Systems is a manufacturer of hardware and software technologies,” says Gary Chalmers, CEO of the company. “We have decided to change our focus to a pure play manufacturing model, working through our distributors and partners, in the vein of industry best practice and standards. We have therefore made a call to reduce our outward bound sales focus, and concentrate our resources into our technical and support skills for the channel.”
The investors, which include current parent Richmark Holdings, now also include Steve Midgley, CEO of Cisco Systems SA, Laurence Savage, GM of Hall Longmore, Dean Chivers and Chalmers.
“We will focus on streamlining the operations of the business and driving our investments into our core business focus of biometric access control and time and attendance,” says Midgley. “Some of our immediate goals are to reduce headcount in the current sales infrastructure, move premises and increase our investments into software development.”
“iPulse has tremendous opportunities and growth ahead of it,” says Ebrahim Karolia, MD, Richmark Holdings. “However, we have felt for some time now that it needs broader scope and exposure than we are able to give it within Richmark, and we are therefore extremely confident that the new structure will yield significant returns for all.”
