The Hikvision DS-4004HCI/P intelligent licence plate recognition card supports four channels of 4CIF recording resolution, while DCIF, 2CIF, CIF, QCIF are options. The licence plate recognition function is set to operate in the first channel.
By adopting Hikvision’s licence plate recognition algorithm, as well as other technologies including image processing, machine vision and pattern recognition, the card is able to extract and analyse vehicle licence plate information from the captured video stream.
The card can automatically extract a clear snapshot picture of a moving vehicle’s licence plate in the speed of 0~120 km/h, and identify each character and number on the licence plate as well as provide other information such as position, size and colour of the plate. The product can also perform image correction functions if there is distortion caused by the camera angle, thus achieving higher accuracy on recognition. Hikvision’s licence plate recognition algorithm is based on pure image processing/identification technology and users do not need to set any area-of-interest on the camera view.
