Africa Strategic Asset Protection (ASAP) has added new X-ray scanning and detection products to its range of security solutions. The company believes the new products are well positioned to address the security challenges of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The new product range starts with the SDT MN 1000 B Explosives and Narcotics Detector, a small mobile unit capable of detecting 1 billionth of a gram of either explosives or narcotics. Next is the Brijot Gen2 Concealed Items and Weapons Detector. It does not emit radiation but detects problems by using natural millimetre wave energy emitted by the human body and the energy of the concealed objects. ASAP is currently the sole agent for the supply, installation and maintenance on these products.
