In keeping with the FDIA's mission statement of uplifting and maintaining standards within the fire protection industry as well as professionalising the industry, the FDIA has expressed concern about the numerous gas supply companies who see a large market potential, spreading rumours and stating unfounded facts to smear their opposition.
"They spread confusion and uncertainty amongst the end-users and work in the opposite direction to what the FDIA are trying to promote - professionalism," says Chairman Keith Norgate.
Norgate appeals with the extinguishing gas supply companies to assist in the promoting of the gas extinguishing system benefits instead of destroying them. In light of the above the FDIA have delayed plans for the establishment of a separate gas extinguishing section in the Association. All planning of gas training courses is put on hold until further notice.
