The Siemens danger management system MM8000 enables effective integration of different security disciplines and efficiently manages all critical alarms or technical emergencies.
With the MM8000 danger management station Siemens offers a centralised alarm and incident monitoring tool. It runs on a standard PC and can be used in a standalone application for a single user or as a multi-user application in a Client/Server configuration. The MM8000 is able to manage a wide range of different sub-systems for safety and building operation, including fire detection, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and other technical equipment such as HVAC controls. The interoperable capability combines a wide range of technologies and requires an interface that ensures clear, error-free handling by the security staff.
Usability is one of the key features of the danger management station MM8000. On the graphical user interface alarms, messages and the current status of all connected systems are displayed in a uniform, clearly organised manner and arranged in accordance with the security-relevant priorities. With a single mouse click, the operator can select the new event on the event list, which is highlighted by a flashing and an acoustic signal. The system guides the operator through predefined procedures and proposes actions, intervention steps or it displays graphical maps and video images. The system indicates only those options and command buttons that are relevant to the current incident.
MM8000 is equipped with a convenient browser tool providing a clear system overview and enabling the user to navigate through individual zones. These can be displayed in the appropriate view, either as hierarchical tree or as graphical map. Thus, the exact position of a building, a floor, a room or an individual object reporting an alarm, fault or warning, is displayed on the screen and can be quickly located. The powerful vector graphic engine supports AutoCAD drawings and permits navigation through the entire facility. The layer structures are clearly displayed and a built-in zoom function enables the user to focus on a floor, a room or even an object in detail. Specific icons indicate the current state of objects. Commands and information are available with only one mouse click. The display can be personalised to suit the preferences of the operator currently in charge.
MM8000 is a scalable system supporting single or multiple workstations. It is based on standards such as Microsoft Windows operating systems, MS-SQL, TCP/IP, BACnet and supports AutoCAD graphics. With the open architecture the system can be expanded easily and can be connected with third-party systems by either OPC server or OPC client.
