36-channel 'hybrid' system

Cathexis has added a 36-channel option to its product range. The systems offer true 'hybrid' capability by means of accommodating analogue camera feeds as well as IP cameras and/or video servers simultaneously.

With 36 channels on one system, the price-per-channel is dramatically reduced. Add to this the hybrid capability, and the product provides a cost-effective solution for customers who have existing equipment which they need to utilise and want to expand further via video over IP.

The systems run the 'CATVision' software on a NetBSD operating system. NetBSD ensures stability and has no known viruses, unlike products running on Windows platforms.

The Cathexis systems include highly sophisticated VMD, Vector tracking, 'left object' detection, people counting, multiple databases and a host of other features. Automated 'event' driven actions include automatic display switching, auto PTZ tracking, playing audio clips, synchronised audio/video recording, multichannel bi-directional audio for central monitoring and remote surveillance suite. These systems also incorporate the Cathexis 'health monitoring' capability that ensures up-time by means of advanced warning of any anomalies in the vital signs of the equipment.
