See for miles with Phillips Observation Systems, RS232 interface!

September 99 Surveillance

Remote CCTV surveillance and access control is possible over almost any distance with the new RS232 interface from Philips Observation Systems.

The compact RS232 control box allows the user to connect a colour observation system or quad to a remote surveillance system or PC via the normal telephone network, facilitating complete remote control from virtually anywhere in the world!

Camera switching, viewing of live video, even door opening is possible between sites miles apart. Connected to the system monitor slave output, the RS232 translates the dedicated twisted pair signals into standard audio and video. Its built-in microprocessor translates the system commands into standard RS232 control signals.

As with all POS products, the RS232 plug-and-play format makes it quick and easy to instal. The use of telephone cable for long runs between equipment means it is also a highly cost-effective solution.

All Philips components are designed to very high standards and extensively tested to ensure maximum performance, but if there is a problem, Philips provide a free hot-line telephone help service accessible from anywhere in the world.
