Vandal-resistant cameras see in the dark

GBC's VR range has been extended to include vandal-resistant infrared cameras suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The range is available through Reditron.

Each model in the range features built-in IR illumination from 18 LEDs which provide a viewing range of 5 m in pitch darkness. "This feature enables the cameras to give superb viewing quality in lighting conditions varying from pitch darkness to natural light without the need for adjustment," says GBC Marketing Executive, Adam Dean.

The miniature cameras are encased in small, unobtrusive housings made from strong powder-coated steel. Each unit features a 4 mm LexanTM shatterproof window which is set at an angle to maximise viewing. Inside each strong exterior casing, the miniature camera is mounted on an adjustable steel cradle for precise positioning.

"The units are also easy to install," continues Adam. "When buying a standard camera you have to buy a lens and bracket and then assemble them all. By comparison these cameras make installation far simpler. Each camera is factory-fitted with a pre-focused lens of your choice and no bracket is required."
