Leaderware's CCTV surveillance skills training course was recently presented in KwaZulu- Natal for the first time. Courses were held in Durban for Toyota SA and the new Afrisun SugarMill casino at Mount Edgecombe.
The surveillance skills course was seen as an effective contribution to the overall development and skill base of CCTV operators and the high standards held by these companies. Both companies also purchased the SAMAE assessment package for the selection and placement of CCTV operator personnel. The surveillance course is currently provided on a per company basis but a public course is planned for the end of March. Meanwhile, a course in control room dynamics was provided for the Bank of Botswana as part of their overall training programme for the new CCTV system being introduced at the bank. Exploring the need to work together as an effective team and the allocation of work roles, the control room dynamics course is seen to lead to a more cohesive and efficient work group and better handling of incident conditions.
