EMS adds to its range of mine-based active RFid tagging with the QID Personnel tag. This tag allows a network based Quorum reader net to read a unique ID for each miner entering or leaving an area. The Web-based interface allows instant recognition of missing miners should a critical event occur, where they entered the mine, whether by lift or train, an area where they were last seen, and who they were with.
The tag complements the Winch Control and the Surface Vehicle Alert systems, where vehicle power cut off is automatically executed when personnel are located in blind spots, and can also be fitted with a notification button when requesting a movement change or in the event of a panic situation. Additionally, in its asset mode, it can be fitted to carriages when realtime identification of underground product deliveries is required.
The active tag can be self powered, take its supply from the cap lamp battery or from a host power source.
