Effective access control is not possible without a physical barrier and thus the type of barrier used is very important. A swing door is not effective in controlling proper access as once it opens hordes of people can pass through in either direction.
This is where a turnstile comes into its own, its allows control of one authorised person at a time as well as controlling direction of passage, ie either entry or exit only or both. Turnstiles come in different sizes and finishes eg, steel for industrial applications and glass for commercial applications.
Effective access control is just one of the benefits of installing a physical access control barrier eg, turnstile. A turnstile will also assist in time-keeping of employees at the same point where access is controlled, thereby not only ensuring that only authorised persons enter the premises but also controlling which staff members entered and left and when. Using this time-keeping information, wages and salaries of all employees can also be determined.
Furthermore, turnstiles and revolving doors can create an entrance to your office. Standard swing or sliding doors are not only ineffective in terms of access control but also do not create and enhance an entrance like a glass turnstile or revolving door. Revolving doors also have the added benefit of keeping the warm air out during summer, eliminating cold winds during winter as well as reducing external noise levels.
