Wavetrend Technologies held a function in August to introduce its South African business partners - EAM, Opto Africa, Tracetec and Holbert Systems Solutions.
Wavetrend, a supplier of active RFID solutions, was founded in South Africa in 1999 and has invested $22,4 million in technology, research and company development to date. The company has a worldwide network of accredited strategic-, technology- and channel-partners. Wavetrend has 33 employees in the UK, US, Asia and South Africa and has the second largest installed base of active RFID tags in the world.
Chris Bishop, Wavetrend CEO, linked up from the UK to introduce the business partners present: EAM, which brings together state-of-the-art technologies and business solutions to allow clients to track, manage and control assets, remote, fixed and mobile thus providing them with realtime automated business intelligence; Opto Africa offers systems integration for Wavetrend in heavy industrial markets such as process control and instrumentation, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)-related projects and GPS/GIS tracking systems; Tracetec, a privately owned company responsible for vehicle tracking and recovery; and Holbert Systems Solutions, a systems integrator specialising in the development of technology-based solutions to optimise and streamline business processes. Holbert's healthcare solutions integrate Wavetrend RFID technology with Hospital Information Systems via a purpose developed generic communication and data transfer system.
