The Ideco Group has successfully integrated Legic smartcard technology with Sagem fingerprint readers.
Codenamed IMLI (Ideco-MorphoAccess-Legic Integration), it is a versatile unit that offers the option of storing fingerprint templates on a Legic proximity card. When the card is presented to the customised MorphoAccess device, the template is transferred wirelessly to the reader, and the fingerprint scanned and authenticated. No local database is required.
In a large national or international access control system, IMLI provides employees the freedom of securely entering any of their company's facilities worldwide to which they have access rights.
The solution also allows the storage of a simple fingerprint identifier on a Legic smartcard, while the fingerprint templates themselves are stored either on the MorphoAccess or on a central server. The identifier on the card is used to retrieve the corresponding template from the database, immediately followed by identity verification.
