Reditron, importer and distributor of CCTV and access control equipment, has changed its name to reflect its membership of the giant global security specialist group, Norbain Limited. Effective from 1 July, Reditron is trading as Norbain South Africa.
Norbain Limited is the biggest buyer of CCTV equipment in the world and has annual revenues exceeding R1,8 billion, which it currently earns from three trading companies - UK-based Norbain SD, Norbain Europe headquartered in Portugal and Norbain South Africa (previously Reditron).
Announcing the name change on 30 June, Norbain South Africa managing director, John Loftus, said it "made great strategic sense".
"The name Norbain is known and respected in all major markets for security equipment. While we are proud of what we have achieved under the Reditron banner, the time is right for us to identify more closely with our holding and sister companies to reap the benefits of that dominance.
"As Norbain South Africa, we will actively seek closer links with our sister companies, particularly Norbain SD. We anticipate the relationship with Norbain SD will be greatly enhanced and that our dealings with them will be escalated to even higher priority status," he said.
