Johnson Controls has expanded the open architecture of its Metasys building management system with a family of BACnet compatible field controllers and embedded wireless technology.
The new advanced technology features enhance the system's ability to manage lifecycle costs, improve facility performance, increase flexibility and provide quicker access to more building information.
Says Neil Cameron, divisional manager at Johnson Controls SA: "The Metasys system provides a comprehensive solution for all major building automation system protocols and extends the benefits of wireless technology to all size and types of buildings."
Eliminating the need for manual intervention ensures that the equipment functions at optimum efficiency, which lowers the cost of operation as well as maintenance and repair expenses.
In addition, the Metasys system now provides a comprehensive wireless building controls solution that allows wireless capabilities to be incorporated either throughout the entire system or in just one part, from room sensing to field controllers to network automation to user interfaces to distributed infrastructures.
