Detexis, the retail division of i to i technologies, has announced advances in its offerings of Intellex and of catSystems digital video recorders, further expanding the functionality and application of its digital surveillance systems.
The introduction of Intellex IP from American Dynamics (part of the Tyco Fire & Security group) offers an enhanced digital video management system that provides support for IP-based video surveillance devices, as well as double the frame capacity and twice the resolution of the current Intellex system - and at just one-quarter of the chassis size.
Intellex IP uses video servers and digital video cameras transmitting video over an IP network instead of analog cameras over coaxial cables. Importantly, analog cameras can easily be incorporated into an Intellex IP system by using a video server that converts the analog signal to a digital signal.
Detexis also deploys catSystems from Cathexis, recognising the system's wide range of integrated facilities, its powerful functionality, allied to its modular architecture. Cathexis has recently released its catSite Site Management and catAlarm Alarm Management Software Suites. Running on a Windows operating system these powerful software packages bring to the market true digital surveillance network management either on-site or remotely, featuring multiple operator screen presentations with camera views, site map layouts and alarm queue data; drag-and-drop network resource (cameras, microphones etc) from a structured list of resources; interactive control of resources on a site map showing camera views with multiple building level capability; multiple display switching via the VGA Server in the traditional analog matrix manner; and alarm management for current alarms, alarms being serviced and archived alarms with multiple operator capability.
Intellex and catSystems are supplied in southern Africa by i to i technologies retail division, previously Detexis.
