The security industry is not all doom and gloom as was proved by one of the industry's regulatory authorities, the South African Intruder Detection Services Association (SAIDSA), who organised a day of target shooting for all the Free State security companies on 15 October.
A total of eight teams participated in the competition with each team having the opportunity to fire 32 shots. A healthy rivalry soon developed among the various security organisations but Chubb Electronic Security A proved too tough for runners up BloemSec. Chubb Electronic Security B took third place.
Schalk van der Merwe of Chubb Electronic Security A also took top honours by being voted the best shot of the day.
Chubb Electronic Security is a division of Chubb Security South Africa.
