S2 Security Corporation (S2) has announced it will support Dedicated Micros' 'NetVu Connected' digital video recorders as part of version 2.0 of its S2 NetBox product line. The integration delivers high quality, high frame rate video of both current and recorded scenes to users through a common web browser.
The S2 NetBox, the security industry's first complete security management system in a solid state network appliance, integrates with Dedicated Micros' DVRs over a standard IP network. Events detected by the access control and alarm monitoring systems of the S2 NetBox can initiate video recording; likewise, video motion detection by the recorder can trigger alarms on the S2 NetBox. The S2 user interface allows single-click retrieval of video associated with an event from any web browser.
"Integration with video recording has been the number one most requested capability," observed John L. Moss, CEO of S2 Security Corporation. "Dedicated Micros is a proven leader in digital video recording and shares our network orientation. Their extensive experience and quality reputation were important considerations in our decision to support their products."
Ed Solt, VP of Sales for Dedicated Micros, sees working with S2 as part of an important strategy. "S2 Security Corporation has become part of our NetVu Connected program, which we will announce at ASIS," said Solt. "We are taking advantage of our mutual IP networking focus to deliver a solution with superior capabilities to a wide range of applications. The integration is a great value for end-users."
