Harmonic Group has released the new Datalogic Heron G CCD gun for instinctive reading in desk applications, into the South African market.
The new Heron G is a gun-shaped addition to the first-class series of Heron instinctive readers, with an excellent combination of reading characteristics and features.
"The result is a gun shaped CCD instinctive reader which makes the operator's job easier when used for data collection at a desk in office automation and document handling applications as well as in light industrial environments," says Harmonic Group MD, Barry Baetu.
The Heron G is equipped with a Datalogic patented 'green spot' for good read feedback directly on the code in addition to a beeper. It can read all standard barcodes including reduced space symbologies, at a rate of 256 scans per second, and at distances of up to 24 cm with an unbeatable first pass read rate. Puzzle Solver technology also helps improve reading performance in the case of damaged or badly printed codes.
The Heron G handheld reader can be provided with a stand to enable operators to use the reader as a presentation scanner. When the reader is placed in the stand, it automatically switches to hands-free mode and the green spot remains on to help users position the code to be read under the reader. A desk/wall holder is provided as an additional accessory for ease of use in environments where the workspace is limited.
The Heron G hand-held reader is available in a single multi-interface model, making it compatible with various host systems simply by changing the plug-in cables.
It is based on enhanced multistandard architecture which guarantees built-in data formatting and editing, enabling the captured data to be shaped to the format required by the application software.
