Philips' new Praesideo public address and emergency sound system is an all-digital public address system with emergency sound and evacuation capabilities.
Its unique network configuration uses a simple daisy-chain interconnection allowing easy installation of call stations, audio inputs and outputs, control inputs and outputs and much more. Initial system configuration is carried out easily from a PC with user-friendly configuration software, eliminating the need for programming at the equipment end or complex, time-consuming changes in the system cabling when upgrading or expanding. The configuration software uses web-based technology and allows authorised users to access and monitor the system from any location. After the system configuration, the PC can be disconnected and Praesideo can work without a PC.
Praesideo's digital network technology also provides built-in TCP/IP protocol as well as a standard RS232 interface, making the system open for interconnection with other systems and peripherals - for example to provide extensive monitoring and logging functions, or linking to other building management or fire alarm systems. Messages can be broadcast via the system's own call stations or automatically using stored pre-recorded announcements triggered from alarms, etc or from other audio inputs.
