Reditron launches a range of fibre-optic equipment

December 2000 Surveillance

Reditron recently expanded its range of security products by entering into a distribution agreement with fibre-optic equipment manufacturer Advanced Digital Devices.

The agreement includes the distribution and support of the video, data and audio fibre products primarily aimed at the security industry. The increasing demand and acceptance of fibre-optic equipment and cable in security system installations worldwide, makes it a natural addition to the Reditron range of products.

The products range from miniature video transmitters that can be installed inside camera housings to multichannel video transmit or receive cards for installation in a 19" rack mountable frame. The data products for the control of pan, tilt and zoom cameras or high-speed dome cameras are also available as single channel or multichannel transmit and receive units and cater for RS232/485 and RS422 interfaces. For more specialised applications, video and data can be multiplexed for transmission over a single fibre.

Other products include both a single and dual channel audio fibre interface and an eight-channel echo card for alarm transmission over fibre-optic cable. All the products in the range can be ordered with either multimode or single mode optics depending on the application.
