American Dynamics' digital video

American Dynamics, a provider of digital video-based security solutions, has announced that MATE - Media Access Technologies, a supplier of comprehensive realtime facial recognition and behaviour watch applications for the CCTV security market, has selected American Dynamics' state-of-the-art Intellex digital video management system to form an integrated solution that combines the power of Intellex with MATE's leading face and behaviour recognition products. Tactron Technologies is the exclusive southern African distributor of the American Dynamics range.

The new solutions, called FaceWatch 6004 for Intellex and BehaviourWatch 6008 for Intellex, provide Intellex users with realtime, cost-effective facial and behavioural recognition as well as face-based video data mining.

"MATE chose Intellex for a number of reasons, chiefly because of the product stability, quality of streaming live video, and Intellex API," says Moti Gura, CEO of MATE. "Additionally, Intellex has attained worldwide recognition and features advanced text database storage."

FaceWatch 6004 provides realtime recognition across the LAN against an existing database of stored faces and transmits alarms and text messages to Intellex for logging with associated video. The FaceWatch logging results may be accessed via Intellex and Network Client search tools.

BehaviourWatch 6008 provides realtime behaviour analysis across the LAN using a number of behavioural criteria and transmits alarms and text messages to Intellex for logging with associated video. Some of the behaviour criteria include: line crossing/intersection, directional motion, motion and change detection, abandoned object and people counting. BehaviourWatch supports PTZs with multiple presets and is suitable for outdoor applications using Smart Scene technologies by MATE.

Behaviour Watch 6008 detects objects and people, identifying and alarming on suspected behaviours. It also counts objects, analyses speed, and collects other statistical data. A recognised behaviour returns an alarm to the Intellex, while recording the video event description as text.

Although the demand for these types of solutions originated in casinos, the software has a number of practical applications for both security and operations in retail organisations, the transportation industry and schools.

"With the integration of both FaceWatch 6004 and Behaviour Watch 6008 with Intellex, we have created user-friendly, cost-effective solutions that provide realtime alerts," says Gura. "We are excited about the things we have already accomplished and look forward to working closely with American Dynamics to continue to add value for our customers."
