One of the CCTV industry's eternal limiting factors has always been the concept of 'Field of View'. If any incident should occur outside of the field of view of a camera/lens combination then that incident has, until now, been lost forever. Hence the extreme care taken by CCTV professionals in placing cameras in the correct position with the correct lens for best coverage to limit the chance of missing any incidents.

Reditron's latest offering, the Digital Dome from IPIX, gives security managers 360° coverage from a single camera with zero distortion and pan, tilt zoom capability in both live and recorded mode. Even when zooming in on a particular item in the camera's range, it carries on recording the full 360° for later playback and analysis.
