BoomGate Systems introduces new portable spike barrier

March/April 2004 Access Control & Identity Management

BoomGate Systems has launched its portable surface-mount high security spike barrier, available as a manual or fully automated barrier. This surface-mount spike barrier is designed where civil work is not possible to install the spike barrier into the road surface, like concrete ramps in and out of multistorey parking garages. The first of these units is to be used at Johannesburg International Airport.

Says Andre Rossouw of BoomGate Systems, "This product has huge potential for security and guarding companies. The spike barrier could be leased to clients and can be moved from one site to another, because no installation is required. This product is being developed further for road blocks set up by the SAP where this barrier can be offloaded and reloaded on to a specially designed trailer within minutes."

New design for barrier

Adds Rossouw, "BoomGate Systems has made a huge investment to introduce a new shaped barrier. We believe that architects will appreciate this design which will complement any vehicle entrance. No more straight lines and square tops."

All new BoomGate Systems barriers will come with a two year warranty on all mechanical parts.
