For the second successive year, Lenel Systems International provided computerised photo ID badges for all participants in the Little League Baseball World Series, which was held in Williamsport, Pennsylvania from 20-26 August 2000. Little League Baseball issued secure identification badges to hundreds of people at this year's event, including players, managers, umpires, grounds crew, facility personnel and administrative staff.
Lenel, a leader in the design and delivery of security management systems, was delighted to put its technology to use at the event. "We all share responsibility for the safety of our children. For this reason, Lenel is proud that Little League Baseball trusted us to provide a solution that ensured the safety and welfare of this year's participants, particularly the young players," remarked Elena Prokupets, Lenel President and CEO.
To create a first-rate badging system, Lenel donated ID management technology and teamed with computer integration firm DEI Security and Nisca, which provided badging services and ID card printers, respectively. "Our organisations understand the importance of reaching outside our traditional markets to lend a helping hand for a good cause," said Prokupets.
During the week-long series, all participants stayed in the International Grove, better known as the 'Village'. Only persons with valid ID badges were allowed into the secured area
