In a move to simplify yet maintain system efficiency, Evolving Management Solutions (EMS), the electronic management resource development company, has announced a major revamp of its System 42 (S/42) access control and resource management software flagship product.
This was announced by Marketing Director Steve Mason, who says the new version of S/42 will coincide with attractive launch prices targeted at customers looking to upgrade their existing systems.
"The main drive behind the rewrite of S/42 is threefold and includes simplifying the user interface, improving speeds by as much as 30% and making the installation process effortless."
Our research and development team under the project leadership of Development Manager Ernest Kleynhans included a more intuitive front end which many users will recognise as being very similar to that of Microsoft Outlook.
He points out that apart from these three key driving factors, several more features and product functions have been introduced. These include:
* Dynamic icons; emergency eventualities such as a fire or unauthorised intrusion will be displayed on the screen in the form of an animated icon.
* Alarm scripting; powerful basic scripting allows for flexible input and output linking.
* Compatibility to Windows 2000, Microsoft NT workstation and server.
* Prioritised alarm events.
* HTML online help.
* Automatic alarm events whereby users will be notified by e-mail of unusual occurrences after hours.
* Access across PSTN, ISDN, WAN, LAN protocols.
Mason says that for a limited period EMS will offer the new version of S/42 at reduced costs giving existing customers as well as potential clients the opportunity to either upgrade or implement a new system at favourable pricing.
Kleynhans adds that the release of Version 3 follows a period of intense programming and development. "I believe we have achieved what we set out to do which was primarily to make the new version worthwhile for users."
