At an upcoming wide-ranging seminar on the security industry and the role played by video surveillance, an attempt will be made to draw up a standard generic template for CCTV systems in South Africa.
The seminar on specifying digital security and management systems will be addressed by several leading South Africans drawn from government and the private sector.
Topics to be addressed include street surveillance projects and their success rates, crime statistics and current conviction rates as well as the various applications of video surveillance. This will include tips on how to correctly specify digital security and management systems.
The seminar will be held at the Castle in Kyalami, north of Johannesburg, on 6 November from 09h30 until 13h00. An interactive and more technically orientated workshop, which will examine issues such as picture quality, frame rates and integration, will be held in the afternoon for those who are interested.
