Johnson Controls recently announced its new security solutions division, which forms part of the Controls Division in South Africa. This was done in order to align Johnson Controls South Africa with the global trends within Johnson Controls International. It was also necessary as Johnson Controls had purchased the Cardkey access control company three years ago, and the company felt it now warranted its own division.
Known for its reliability and performance, the added advantage of using the Cardkey product is that alarms can be transferred to the Johnson Controls building management system in order to optimise this system without any hardware cost. Additional functionality features can be built into the access system like automated guard tours, integrated CCTV, alarm monitoring, intrusion detection, elevator control, video imaging and asset management and tracking.
Johnson Controls' services range from the initial site surveys to installation and maintenance cover for all areas of the security market. Using the company's facilities management group, the company provides its clients with complete audits on their processes and procedures to see if they comply with the complete security solution. Johnson Controls focuses on identifying clients' major risks, which include elements of a sound security solution, viz applications of technology, applications of processes and procedures, and the human factor.
