A recently signed distribution agreement between Wilec and Seal King has resulted in improved availability of the Seal King range of tamper-evident security tapes. The tapes are an important element of product security in many industries, with four main categories.
1. Zero-residue tape is designed for software packs and similar packaging, where aesthetics are integral to overall product appearance. It is also suitable for re-usable packaging, and for labelling applications such as white goods and blood samples, because the tape leaves no adhesive residue after removal and adheres to a surface only once.
2. The second product in the tamper-evident range is self-wound security tape, which leaves behind a bold 'void' text when removed, to indicate package violation.
3. Total-transfer security tape, the third type, is similar to self-wound, but additionally features a matt surface carrier that enables the tape to be printed, butt-cut or die-cut, allowing package branding or identification. As before, tape removal leaves behind a bold 'void' text to indicate package violation. Over-printing of the tape with consecutive numbers provides additional security by enabling quick identification of missing packages.
4. The fourth type of tape, Seal King's partial transfer tamper-evident security tape, is designed to seal plastic bags without tearing the plastic on removal.
An important feature of this type of tape is that it functions at sub-zero temperatures, making it suitable for certain medical applications.
Tampering is again indicated by a bold violation message.
