Eagle technology introduces digital CCTV for OEM's,system integrators and end users .

Dec '99 Surveillance

Eagle Technology has introduced its First Line range of digital CCTV products, which it claims are unique in that they provide the customer with three levels of integration: OEM components: where the customer purchases the hardware and a software developer’s kit and writes his own custom software; DVR digital recorder kits: where the customer purchases a kit which includes the hardware and Mastercontrol software, and is ideal for customers with existing computers; and DVX digital recorders: a complete rack-mount computer system pre-installed with Windows and Mastercontrol software, where all that is needed are cameras and a monitor.

According to Nathan Bearman of Eagle Technology, these digital recorders can replace switchers, multiplexers and time-lapse VCRs. They feature standard PAL/NTSC/S-video inputs, have alarm I/O and can operate with any Intel or AMD-based PC system running Windows 95, 98 or NT.

Wavelet video compression

Based on Wavelet video compression technology, Bearman suggests that “the First Line products provide the most cost effective digital CCTV systems available on the market today.

“The different levels of integration allow them to be competitive in any project, large or small,” he says. “Another advantage of these products are the scalable number of inputs, for a small system one can choose from a 4/8 input card or for larger systems, one can use the frameserver, which is a 16 or 32 channel input digital multiplexer.”

Mastercontrol

The DVR & DVX products come included with a powerful CCTV software package called Mastercontrol. This software when coupled with the First Line digital surveillance hardware completely controls the system’s schedule, motion detection, image compression and more. Says Bearman, “Mastercontrol is extremely flexible yet simple to use. Once the schedule has been entered, the program will run on its own and even offer an alarm when something of note occurs.

“Mastercontrol allows full duplex operation (ie recording, monitoring and playback) of recorded video simultaneously,” he says.
