HID Corporation has announced plans to license its proximity technology for the CEM Systems InfoProx card reader. The InfoProx reader is a small, discrete unit that reads all HID cards and mounts onto standard UK, European or US light switch containment boxes.
If access is denied to a cardholder, the InfoProx card reader simplifies diagnosing the problem by instantly displaying the reason for the denial (such as ‘expired card’ or ‘incorrect time zone’) on its backlit LCD panel. By controlling all door-locking devices, InfoProx eliminates the need for additional controllers or output relays. An optional keypad also is provided for enhanced security.
“HID is pleased to announce the licensing arrangement with CEM Systems, a leading access control manufacturer,” said Joe Grillo, Vice President of HID’s Access Control unit. “This product offering provides significant added value for many applications, and furthers the positioning of HID and its RFID technology in the security industry.”
“The CEM InfoProx reader is the smallest LCD proximity card reader available”, said Andrew Fulton, CEM Systems Joint Managing Director. “The reader size will appeal to architects, specifiers, installers and users alike”.
