JVC launches hard disk recorder

May 2003 Surveillance

JVC Professional Europe has introduced a new digital video recorder (DVR), model VR-601E. Primarily for surveillance systems, the VR-601E is able to record high quality MJPEG images in single channel mode.

Material recorded can be checked in realtime both before and after the sensor is triggered. As this facility is not possible with tape-based recorders the VR-601E offers a new versatility to security monitoring.

The VR-601E can be connected to a multiplexer, enabling easy integration into an existing surveillance system. This unit has a network capability via the Ethernet whereby, for PC controlled operation, a PC can be connected to the recorder via the RS232C interface.
