UK CCTV manufacturer, Baxall, has launched a range of cameras utilising a revolutionary new chipset technology - the Digital Pixel System (DPS) - developed by Pixim, a specialist in digital imaging.
The sensor in Baxall's new range of cameras digitises the image immediately at the pixel level. This is achieved by incorporating an analog to digital converter on each pixel. Every pixel is then individually exposed for the optimum amount of time to achieve a superior dynamic range (ie, the difference between the brightest and darkest areas of an image) to any current CCTV camera. The result is a clear, realistic picture that provides more detailed information for the user, not dissimilar to the human eye.
"Baxall's new range of Wide Dynamic cameras will set a new benchmark for image quality in the CCTV market, without the high premium normally associated with this functionality," states Dominic Oughton, managing director of Baxall.
